We’re heading to Epping Forest for an Autumnal two day weekend workshop right on London’s doorstep. Epping Forest is a cherished landscape for us. One of our favourite parts is the ancient beach forests of Loughton Camp which we will visit over this weekend. We will also explore some newer areas too. And it’s all within easy access by foot from a London Underground station!

From the station we’ll head into the forest, and after introductions and a gentle arrival in our surroundings, we’ll spend our time exploring our relationship to place through sensing, moving and reflection. ACCESS: We’ll meet each day at Loughton station (on the Central Line of the London Underground). There are toilets at the Sainsbury’s supermarket just opposite the station we can use before heading into the forest. In the forest there are no further facilities.
The forest is roughly a gentle 20 minute walk from the station. Once inside the forest, we’ll be using gravel and earth tracks as well as going off track completely. We will hike between sites walking up to about 45minutes at a time. The forest has many small hills and valleys.

SCHEDULE: 10am-5pm each day Saturday and Sunday
