A one-day workshop led by Katye integrating urban nature connection with nervous system regulation

Overview:

This one-day workshop as part of this Spring’s London Sense Ability pop-up programme, offering an opportunity to deepen your connection with green spaces in the city whilst learning how to slow down within fast-paced urban life.


You will be introduced to key nature-connection practices, explore embodiment and nervous system regulation in outdoor environments, and cultivate greater awareness of more-than-human life, developing a sense of kinship with other beings. The day focuses on building community skills that support ongoing nature connection and meaningful relationships with both human and non-human life.

Workshop facilitator:

Katye Coe has been facilitating with Kinship Workshop since 2018. Katye is a facilitator, teacher and performer with over 25 years of experience working collaboratively in the UK and internationally (www.katyecoe.org). Katye is a certified Somatic Experiencing practitioner, a Skinner Releasing Technique teacher and has completed 4 years of environmental movement work in Helen Poynor’s Walk of Life Programme.
Katye grew up on a farm in Kent and later worked extensively alongside horses. Her intention in the context of Kinship Workshop relates to the importance of negotiating how humans live alongside the many other living beings we share this world with.

Access:

During the day, we’ll be travelling on foot to/from local green spaces using tarmac, gravel and earth tracks as well as going off track completely. There will also be a possibility to make adaptations to include various access requirements, but please get in touch with particular needs before the workshop (contact details available after booking). We will walk between several sites, walking up to about 15-30 minutes at a time. Public toilets are available.
