I am excited to announce our first Kinship Workshop in Bristol!
We’ll be working in Ashton Court within easy reach by public transport for this 2-day weekend workshop.
The beautiful grounds of Ashton Court cover 850 acres of woodland and grassland.
We’re grateful for the support of locals Holly Thomas, Katherine Hall, Jo Hellier and Mary Eddowes for assisting in bringing the workshop to the city.
From the meeting point at the Church Lodge entrance to Ashton Court, we’ll head into the park. After introductions and sense-tuning, we’ll spend the time exploring our relationship to place through sensing, moving and reflection. Please have a look at the What To Expect page for more information on the general format of a Kinship Workshop.
We will run the workshop with some special alterations to help people feel at ease during the pandemic by following current guidelines on social distancing, and providing individuals with options to distance further if needed. We’ll keep an eye on changes to government guidelines and adapt or adjust as and when new guidelines are put in place. Before the workshop there will be a detailed information email that explains the plan for the weekend taking into consideration any restrictions.
ACCESS: We’ll meet each day at the Church Lodge entrance of Ashton Court.
The meeting point is about a 3 minute walk from the bus stop Angel Inn (buses X7, X9) in Long Ashton. There is also a carpark at the Church Lodge entrance and limited on-street parking in Long Ashton. Once inside the forest, we’ll be using tarmac, gravel and earth tracks as well as going off track. We will hike between sites walking up to about 20-30 minutes at a time. The grounds have many small hills and valleys.
There are public toilets located at Ashton Court Mansion. In the grounds and woods there are no facilities.
