This June I went to Sweden. After spending some time on the Stockholm archipelago I travelled with my friend Petra up to her family cabin in the North of the region of Dalarna in Sweden. We drove from Stockholm and as the landscape changed, with it the plant and wildlife too. Moose, reindeer, arctic fox… and even a BEAR! We were so lucky.
The old mountains in the area of Grövelsjön host the grazing reindeer at this time of year and it was the first time for me to see them in herds. There are wild, beautiful places and inhabitants up there and the summer sun means you can explore at almost any time of the day or night. So beautiful. I hope to return in the dark of winter next time… watch this space!
