There is a beautiful mountain lake in the Brecon Beacons that I discovered with Katye a couple of years ago. It is surrounded by magnificent views of the Brecon landscape and there are free-roaming animals that graze the surrounding hills. At the bottom of the hill there is a wild camping spot next to a farm. There is a tap for water and not much else. This will be the site of the first KINSHIP CAMP this September.
My idea for Kinship Camp is for participants with a little more experience of being outdoors and at work or in practice, can come together to explore the themes of Kinship inside the landscape itself. No frills. Basic. But fully immersed. The focus of the work is to be out on the land. We will meet in the mornings to move together but then spend the rest of the day on extended activities with a little more independent and self-directed practice in the landscape. We’ll meet in the evening to share experiences and food.
The Camp will be open from the 5-8 September. Participants can come for all or part of that time (minimum 2 days). Participants should have all their own camping gear including cooking equipment and food supplies.
